About Achilles Medical

Achilles Medical was founded in 2004 by two brothers named Mike and Matt. They were helped along by close family members who had been in the sports medicine field for over 20 years with their own company. Achilles Med started out as a small idea that steadily grew into a very nice second source of income. At first, we sold only a few braces a week while learning how to traverse an internet business, and to understand how to get our name out. We slowly learned about search engine placement and paid advertisement, but because everyone else was already set up and making a profit, we needed something special to set us apart. We came up with three main guidelines that helped our company thrive. 
First, and foremost, is our outstanding customer service. We quickly set up our contact info and obtained a toll-free number for our customers to use to reach us. We found it surprising how many people wanted to, and were actually glad to speak to someone over the phone about their questions, and to receive help with ordering. We figured that at most we would receive a few calls every month, but we get at least five per day currently. We also receive several emails every day from people with questions about certain braces, and from others who want to know the status of their orders. Second, we wanted competitive pricing, same day shipping, and also free ground shipping on all orders. Every order received by 4:00 p.m. central time is shipped out the same day. Many orders received after 4:00 p.m. are also shipped. We’ve been known to show up at UPS some days just before its 7:00 p.m. closing in order to get a few last products out that day. We offer competitive prices that remain the same every day. The only price change we’ve had in over two years, is a price reduction. All of our products, no matter what count, have a free ground shipping option.

Third, we wanted people who visited our website to enjoy shopping on it. To accomplish this, we hired a highly-ranked web development firm to design our website. Our goals for the website were: to have a professional appearance, to provide easy navigation, and to offer high-quality products. We wanted the shopping experience to be easy, with no surprises at checkout. We showed the web development firm our competitors’ websites, and demanded that our website be superior to those examples. We only sell high-quality sports medicine bracing, (the same bracing you find in clinics, hospitals, and schools.) Our flagship product is the ASO ankle brace. The ASO ankle brace is chosen by 250+ professional and college teams to prevent/treat ankle sprains. We also have knee braces, wrist braces, back braces, etc.
